I call it: “My Corona Crisis”. It’s mixed media on canvas, 70 x 100. I’ve used my Filtering Flower Pieces (Ffp2) again. I’ve tried to capture how the last 1,5 years have made me feel during the pandamic (anxious, lonely, creative, empowered…). What do you feel? Take a closer look:
Corona-Art #14: Frida’s Weeping Flowers
I call it: “Frida’s Weeping Flowers.” It’s mixed media on reused canvas. I had this painting, I didn’t like anymore and painted it over. Again I’ve used and spray painted old (desinfected and cooked) medical masks for some flowers and upcycled the vase and rose after I had Marie Kondo-ed some of my stuff. I …
Corona-Art #13: Skater-Shelf
So I bought an old Skateboard and painted it over. I used two “filtering flower pieces” (Ffp2) on the edges. Now it’s a board for my plants. What do you think?
Something wooden
I actually can’t show you my two new ones yet (Corona-Art #9 & #12: They are made as presents. But I thought, I’d post a self-portrait I made in between. I have incorporated the recycling thought here as well. The canvas is made of small wooden plates, which often come with canvases. So therefore it’s …
Corona Art #11: No Piece of Art is like the other
So my beautician who supplies me with quite few masks, asked me if I could do one piece for her like my “Filtering Flower Piece 1”. This is the result. Somehow same but so very different. I’ve taken pictures and a video from both next to each other. What do you think?
Corona-Art #10: Beauty Standards
I‘ve been thinking a lot about Beauty standards latetly. And since I’m running low on masks, I’ve started experimenting with collages and photo transfers. This is my first one. A self portrait. The main theme is diversity in beauty. This is an inkjet print and even though the common opinion is that only laserjet prints …
Corona-Art #8: This must be underwater Love
This new work was “commissioned” as a birthday gift. The objective was turquoise coloring with an aquatic and underwater vibe. It’s acrylic on canvas (30×40) using several methods (spatula & spray painting for example). I’ve used Ffp2 masks and simple medical masks. PS: This piece is gone.
Corona-Art #7: Black & White
This is a 50 x 60 cm piece. I used acryl on canvas and spray-painted the fftp2 masks with different colors and layers as well. I also used a medical mask in the middle and formed it to a flower. I also used an old frame as a base for the filtering flower pieces.
Corona-Art #6: The Butterfly
Another Acrylic on canvas (20 x 50): I have thought about how a butterfly is the ultimate symbol for transformation. The caterpillar has to go through an extreme metamorphosis to become a beautiful butterfly. This is why I have chosen this motive for my next piece. It ended up a bit childlike and sweet. PS: …
Corona-Art #5: Filtering Flower Piece 2 (FFP2)
Acrylic on canvas (20 x 50): This time I’ve used two of my Filtering Flower Pieces. I like the play on words with having used two pieces and the actual term FFP2.
